With a focus on preventative medicine, HSVP focuses on teaching safety based on OSHA recommendations and violence reduction from the synthesized data of over 68 peer-reviewed research articles. The education cost less than half of the market average and is completely online. The creator of this program has been a global advisor for the reduction of violence in healthcare for the DoD for the past 5 years and he personally teaches all of the skills. He initiated this training because of recent legislation and more importantly because HSVP doesn't want to see another healthcare worker hurt.


De-escalation training typically requires 8 hours or more in a classroom. This program involves an evidence-based education that consists of developing safe organizations, fire safety, PPE, identifying violence and developing strategies to reduce violence in the work center, Identifying stress and how it can contribute to violence, and learning practical skills for protecting staff and patients during physically violent situations. This education was created carefully considering OSHA and TJC standards to ensure employees are prepared to keep themselves and their patients safe. The future goal of this pedagogical strategy will employ virtual learning systems to solidify the techniques. Additionally, organizations will be encouraged to practice skills in a mock education. The innovation aspect reduced classroom time by an average of 4hours per student. The expectation based on industry adaptation is that this education model will improve hospital safety and reduce violence in the workplace.


The long-term vision is to educate as many people as possible, develop more research data, and push that data to legislative bodies to create a better workplace for healthcare.
